Dutch Design Week rocks! From October 19-27 the Future>Factory>Furniture> group exposes in the Klokgebouw in Eindhoven [Strijp-S, Hall 3]. Together with koninklijke CBM and Dutch Design Week we portrait emerging trailblazers in the furniture industry. The goal: to make the transition together towards a circular chain of sustainable Dutch design.

Get off the couch!

First portrait Annemiek Koster from "Enschede Textielstad”, which has grown into the most sustainable and scalable textile producer in the Netherlands, creates high-quality woven fabrics from recycled raw materials (reused cotton, denim, wool, Tencel, hemp, and flax). Together with Annemiek, the ‘koninklijke CBM’ ánd ‘Dutch Design Week, the Future>Factory>Furniture group presents: Food for thought. The Dutch translation of it,  ‘stof tot nadenken’, litterally means fabric to think over. For the special Dutch Design Week occasion the FFF group transformed their fabric residue into a new yarn, from which Enschede Textielstad has woven a new cloth. Each member upholstered their icon with this sustainable fabric, CSrugs made a rug out of it. The result is stunning!

JANUARY 14-18/2024

IMM
LOCATION: COLOGNE
STAND: H 4.2

Future>Factory>Furniture> is the first joint presentation of six renowned furniture and textile companies. Arco, CSrugs, Gelderland, Label Vandenberg, Lande Family, and Leolux manufacture furniture distinguished by both their physical and visual longevity. For decades, we have been producing in the Netherlands, and we consciously choose to continue doing so. True to the mission of our predecessors, we are both rooted and forward-looking. This stance presents us with significant challenges. Further sustainability of the industry, a journey we have been on for years, is undoubtedly the most significant for the current generation.

The complex ecological challenges of our time require a fundamental transformation, one that no single producer can achieve alone. It requires collaboration based on the craftsmanship and ambition for innovation that we, as companies, share. From our specific strengths, we want to collectively explore how to embed circularity more deeply into our business processes, addressing numerous issues that demand answers.

By placing our dilemmas on the table, we initiate a dialogue with each other and with the visitors of the IMM. Every link in the chain must contribute to the design of a circular living environment. From raw material extraction to the furniture and its journey into the market. And at the end of the cycle, back to reclaiming and reusing the original raw materials.

The presentation for IMM is designed by Overtreders-W.
